We are delighted to announce that Woodlands is holding a textile collection for the Happy School Bag Fundraising Scheme.
This scheme is designed to help schools to raise funds and to help the environment by diverting discarded but reusable textiles away from landfill. In the UK alone we consume and discard over 1.4 million tonnes of textiles a year which goes directly into landfill despite the fact that there is spare capacity in textile recycling plants. By taking part in this scheme you help to reduce this amount by giving textiles a new lease of life.
To take part you simply need to fill the Happy School bag which has been placed in your child's drawer with unwanted but clean clothing. We accept both children’s and adult clothes including paired shoes, accessories (hats, belts, handbags, etc…), soft toys and bed linen.
Remember that the more you fill up the bag the more the Woodlands can raise; we receive a competitive rate of up to 65p per kilo; you can also use additional black bin bags if required.
This is a fantastic opportunity to raise eco-friendly awareness amongst children. Everyone can take part so spread the word and let’s get fundraising!
The Happy School Bag van will be collecting from our school on Tuesday 8th October. Please bring all your bags and place them in All Saints Academy school car park on the morning of the collection, we are unable to store bags at Woodlands before this date due to lack of storage space.
Our Annual General Meeting will take place on Wednesday 30th October at 8pm. This will be held at Woodlands and all parents are invited to attend.
Open mornings will be on Wednesday 30th & Thursday 31st October. If you are interested in coming along to see a preschool morning in action please phone or email the office to book yours and your child's place.
Parents evenings will be Wednesday 6th & Thursday 7th November. Time slots will be available and displayed on the white board above the decking closer to the time. This is a great opportunity to sit with your child's key person for an informal chat about your child.
This year our Christmas concerts will be held on Friday 13th December. Children will be invited to take part in either the morning or afternoon concerts. More information to follow.
Every year we hire the Community Center for the children's Christmas party. This year it will be held on Friday 20th December in the afternoon. There will be soft play, party food and a visit from a very special someone too! More information to follow.
